Manufacturer of large-diameter steel pipes
Founded in 1991, the history of the company and its shareholders extends back to the 17th century. Salzgitter Mannesmann GmbH and AG der Dillinger Hüttenwerke each hold 50 % of the shares of EUROPIPE GmbH.
EUROPIPE GmbH is based in Germany in Mülheim an der Ruhr. We have a global presence for our customers, with manufacturing plants in Germany and USA (Berg Steel Pipe Corp. and Berg Spiral Pipe Corp.).
Our range of products comprises pipes with the following dimensions:
• Longitudinal seam-welded pipes are available in outside diameters between 610 and 1524 mm and wall thicknesses up to 45 mm.
• While the spiral seam-welded version offers outside diameters of 610 to 1422 mm and wall thicknesses up to 20 mm.
We deliver pipes in lengths of up to 24 m.
The oldest factory of today's EUROPIPE shareholders owes its existence to Louis XIV! In 1685 His Majesty gave permission to build a steel mill in Dillingen an der Saar. Engineers rolled the first sheet metal on the continent here in 1804. Five years later, the company was changed into Germany's first public limited company – this time with the imperial approval of Napoleon I.
Since then, Dillingen has always been a pioneer in technical fields: In 1897 Europe's first electrical sheet mill began operating, and in 1961 the World's first steel slab continuous casting plant.
People were just as inventive in the Ruhr area – where our company headquarters are located today. A company of the later Mannesmann manufactured the first welded steel pipe in Continental Europe in 1845.
Over 40 years later the brothers Mannesmann succeeded in manufacturing steel pipes by rolling alone, without seams. The world's first pipeline was laid in the Caucasus in 1890 using their pipes. For decades, a second oil pipeline, completed in 1907, was the longest pipeline in the world. In 1970 Mannesmann was the first company to use continuous casting for large-diameter pipes in steel production as the sole method. It has remained so to this day: Mannesmann is synonymous with high-quality steel pipes of all kinds throughout the world.
The two pioneers of the steel industry – AG der Dillinger Hüttenwerke and Mannesmannröhren-Werke AG – combined their experience and competences in the field of large-diameter pipe production in 1991: EUROPIPE was founded.
EUROPIPE is headquartered in Mülheim an der Ruhr/Germany. We have production facilities for longitudinal seam-welded large-diameter pipes in Germany (EUROPIPE in Mülheim) and the USA (Berg Steel Pipe Corp., Panama City). A new plant (Berg Spiral Pipe Corp.) for helically welded pipes started production end 2008 in Mobile/AL, USA.
In order to protect the steel pipes against physical damage and corrosion, EUROPIPE offers the most effective methods to protect against corrosion. Modern coating and lining plants are located in the immediate vicinity of our pipe plants, and our subsidiaries MÜLHEIM PIPECOATINGS GmbH, Germany, is our expert partners.
One of the basic requirements for the prosperity of a society is access to energy and water where energy and water are needed. These essential commodities are transported through pipes safely and economically. EUROPIPE is committed to pipe technology – to the benefit of all. We at EUROPIPE want to expand our leading position as a manufacturer of large-diameter pipes and provider of associated services by providing
• with the lowest possible operating costs for long-life pipes
