EUROPIPE supplies 300,000 tons of large-diameter pipes to Australia

EUROPIPE GmbH has booked a major order from Australian company Woodside. EUROPIPE will deliver 300,000 tons of large-diameter pipe for the proposed Scarborough development.

The Scarborough gas resource is located in the offshore Canarvon Basin, approximately 375 km west-north-west of the Burrup Peninsula in Western Australia.

Woodside is proposing to develop the Scarborough gas resource through new offshore facilities, connected by an approximately 430 km-long carbon steel pipeline to a proposed second liquefied natural gas (LNG) train (Pluto Train 2) at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility located on the Burrup Peninsula.

The pipes for the project will be produced at the Mülheim an der Ruhr location beginning 2022, subject to a final investment decision on the proposed Scarborough development being taken, which Woodside is targeting in the second half of 2021.

The pre-material for the large-diameter pipe mill will be supplied by EUROPIPE's shareholders.
