Effective April 13, 2023, EUROPIPE GmbH sold the Berg Pipe Group, its US production company, to Borusan Mannesmann Pipe US Inc., a subsidiary of Borusan Mannesmann Holding AS based in Istanbul, Turkey.
With its workforce of currently around 400 employees, Berg Pipe produces spiral-welded steel pipes in Mobile, Alabama and longitudinally welded steel pipes in Panama City, Florida.
EUROPIPE GmbH will use the proceeds from the sale of the US companies to reinforce its main location in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany. Against the backdrop of growing global requirements for offshore line pipes, coupled with increasing demand for pipelines to transport natural gas, hydrogen and carbon, driven by the accelerated transition to clean sources of energy, EUROPIPE GmbH is focusing its strategy on this location that manufactures these products.
