Carbon capture and storage as a key technology for climate protection

Carbon capture and storage (CCS) is of central importance in the fight against global warming. This process involves capturing CO₂ emissions from industrial processes and storing them safely underground, preventing CO₂ from entering the atmosphere. This technology is particularly indispensable for industries such as cement and chemical production, which are difficult to decarbonise without CCS, in order to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement.

EUROPIPE as a partner for CCS infrastructure

EUROPIPE has been actively involved in research and pilot projects on carbon capture and storage for more than a decade. With our experience and expertise, we are making a significant contribution to transferring this key technology from the pilot phase to industrial application.

Highest requirements for CO₂ pipelines

The requirements for pipelines used to transport CO₂ are particularly high. EUROPIPE is the ideal partner for the manufacture of large-diameter pipes that ensure the transport of CO₂ in the so-called dense phase. Our solutions meet the highest quality standards and are suitable for both onshore and offshore projects.

First major projects since 2025

EUROPIPE delivered its first CCS pipes for European pilot projects as early as 2024. The first large-scale CCS projects in Europe and North America were implemented from 2025 onwards. With our pipe solutions, we are actively contributing to the development of the CO₂ infrastructure that is essential for decarbonisation – reliably, sustainably and with a view to the future.
