EUROPIPE in dialogue: Delegation trip to Morocco
From 21 to 23 March 2026, EUROPIPE Managing Director Carsten Schmickler visited Morocco as part of a delegation trip organised by the BVMW – German Association for Small and Medium-sized Businesses.
The focus was on talks with local companies and institutions, including ONHYM (Office National des Hydrocarbures et des Mines), responsible for mining and hydrocarbon resources, MASEN (Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy), the main player in Morocco's energy transition, and an exchange with Moroccan Minister of Economy Karim Zidane. The aim of the trip was to discuss opportunities for cooperation and develop a common understanding of economic and infrastructural prospects.
It was particularly impressive to see how consistently Morocco is developing strategically. The targeted expansion of infrastructure and industrial conditions underlines the country's ambition to position itself as a gateway to Africa and promote international partnerships.
EUROPIPE gained very positive impressions from the personal exchange. The open dialogue and mutual understanding underline the importance of reliable framework conditions and long-term prospects for international cooperation in the industrial environment.
We would like to thank the BVMW as well as all discussion partners and organisers for the professional preparation and constructive exchange.
